Pemberton Refugee Resettlement Group

As the “Housing Coordinator” for the Pemberton Refugee Resettlement Group I thought it would be nice to share a little bit of information about our group of like-minded individuals and what we are doing to give back to one family from our community as well as support a family we have never met.

“The PRRG is a group of community members united by our sense of good fortune in calling Pemberton, B.C. and Canada home and our belief that we can share that good fortune with a family in dire need of help. By welcoming a refugee family to live in Pemberton, we believe we can give at least one family hope and enrich our lives and our community in the process.”

Our goal is to raise enough funds to resettle a refugee family here in our community.  We are a charitable organization and completely volunteer driven.  You can learn more about us here: https://pembertonrrg.wordpress.com/

We will be hosting our first major fundraising initiative on Saturday June 17th.  The event is a Barn Party at the Pemberton Community Barn to raise funds for not only the Pemberton Refugee Resettlement Group but also the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research. You won’t want to miss it. DJ Rich-A & Marble Canyon will be providing the tunes and Coast Mountain Brewing will be providing the beer. There will also be food available to purchase (that Pemberton mayor Mike Richman will be cooking!)

Tickets: $20 and are now available for purchase at AC Gas, Mount Currie Coffee Co. & Pemberton Valley Supermarket. (Must be 19+).
